Communication is the most important key to effectively managing a business. It’s what makes sure your clients and customers are receiving the best service when jobs are getting completed in a timely manner.

Going from broke and living in his in-law’s home to running a multi-million-dollar business, Armando Montelongo knows a thing or two about running a successful business. There are several basic management guidelines that could help your team of employees effectively work together to get the job done.

Create Guidelines

It’s important to create rules that are specifically catered to your employees. If this is the first time a set of rules is being implanted, do a little brainstorming. Think about what rules would help the company or department run more successfully.

Hold Meetings

While most people don’t prefer to have updates often and would rather wait until the project is done, opt for holding meetings during the project for quick progress updates. If a project is going to run for six months, hold a meeting once a week for about an hour. This will give the team an idea where everyone is at in the project. If the clients request updates, do separate meetings with them once or twice a week depending on what the client prefers.

Spread Positivity

It’s always good to be positive. If you offer positive feedback, your employees will remain positive and motivated, which will reflect in their work. If they’re struggling, offer tips on how they can successfully complete their tasks. It’s important to offer advice without doing the job for them.
